Winter faucet maintenance guide

The cold winter has arrived, and the temperature drops suddenly all over the country. Do you know that the faucet at home also needs winter maintenance?

Tap installation environment and temperature requirements:

1. It can only be installed in frost free room;

2. The impact of extreme use environment (such as the invasion of chemical substances or the chemical substances contained in cleaning substances), the impact of scale and alkali, and the damage of extremely cold and extremely hot, etc;

3. The faucet product is suitable for the water pipeline in the building, and the water temperature is not higher than 90 ℃; it can not be used in the fluid other than water or for other purposes; the product may be damaged if the service environment is too low (below 4 ℃) or too high (above 90 ℃).

The reasons for the faucet's frost cracking under the service environment below 4 ℃ include but are not limited to the following reasons:

1. The tap is installed outdoors without closing the water inlet valve and antifreeze protection;

2. The owner goes out on vacation or does not live for a long time, the room is not heated, and the water inlet valve is not closed to drain the tap water;

3. After the room is decorated, the owner does not close the windows at night, and does not close the water inlet valve to drain the tap water.

4. After the water test in the early stage of the project, the inlet valve was not closed, and the residual water in the tap was not discharged completely.

How to prevent the faucet from cracking? In order to prevent the faucet from frost cracking under low temperature, the following preventive measures are taken:

1. The windows of kitchen, toilet and all shady rooms should be closed at night to ensure the indoor temperature above 4 ℃;

2. For the room with indoor temperature lower than 4 ℃, the valve of indoor water meter should be closed and the residual water in the water pipe should be drained;

3. If the indoor temperature is lower than 4 ℃, please ensure that the room temperature is higher than 4 ℃. If it can't reach 4 ℃, you can use cotton linen fabric, old cotton clothes, cotton wadding and other insulation materials to thicken and wrap the faucet tightly.

4. Since the thermostatic tap device is equipped with a one-way valve, when the water in the water pipe is drained, the tap needs to be insulated.

Note: if the ambient temperature of Tap Installation on the project site is lower than 4 ℃, it is recommended that the tap should not be installed temporarily, or the tap should not be installed temporarily, or the water should be drained completely after water test.

It is suggested that due to the bad weather, there are many decorated but uninhabited families. Please close the main switch of the water meter and discharge the residual water. In cold weather and freezing, the residual water in the water pipe is easy to freeze and expand. It is possible for the water meter, water pipe, toilet, valve core and valve body to burst, especially the concealed pipe near the north wall and outdoor tap.
